You describe the procedure you use quite well, but it would be helpful
also to know why you are copying the same headers into a new game. Do
you want to include *all* headers, including the name of the players
and the result? I like to copy selected fields from the current game
into a new one when entering games from a tournament after each round
is completed, but maybe you have something else in mind.

There is more than one way to do this in an easier way than you have
done so far in Chess Assistant. I give two methods:

1) If you are creating the new game in the same database as the current
game, then the following is probably helpful. Under Tools Options on
the "General" tab there is an area marked "Keep these fields when
entering a new game". Just mark the fields you want to keep. After that
you can replace the whole procedure you describe with a simple ^N. All
the indicated header fields from the current game will be copied into
the new one.

2) To copy *all* headers into a new game, open the game window of the
game whose headers are to be copied. Hit ^, (that's CTRL+,) to copy all
the headers, ^N to create a new game and finally SHIFT+INS to paste all
headers into the new game.

Notes on 2):
a) The second method actually copies the game up to the position
displayed on the board. So if the board is displaying the original
position, only the headers are copied. If you have played through the
first 10 moves and then hit ^, the headers and the first 10 moves of
the game are copied.

b) Also note that you may be able to save one more key-click by pasting
the headers into a dataset in 'list mode' instead of 'view mode'. If
you have copied the headers you are after with ^, you can paste them as
a new game directly into any dataset by SHIFT+INS (No need for ^N
first).

Finally, if you have already entered several games and need to make a
global change to any of the header fields, it's easy to do in 'list
mode'. Just click on the column header to higlight the column, then
right-click and select Tools Fill from the context menu.
