My theory always was (and like any theory from such limited contact, it
shouldn't be taken too seriously) was that this was the case of an
otherwise intelligent woman who for some reason - I am sure Ruben Fine
would have had a field day with it, given the strict Polgar method -
that he held some sort of alpha male Svengali-like hold on her.

She is such a good ambassador for chess otherwise, a great player, etc.

But as the great John Candy said in "Who's Harry Crumb," It's only a
theeory."
