The question I have is how to address it.
Musicians, like other creative artists, usually have strong feelings on
copyright. I can't imagine they take kindly to thieves. After all, if
Mitchell can steal a chess article, why wouldn't he steal lyrics or
music?

Having accused me of murder at Taylor Kingston's direct suggestion - what
lesser thing should be ignored?

That these libels go unchallenged either at PJA, from Campbell, or by
Vaguely Krooning here, is utterly beside the point that Mitchell FIRST said
that Brennan misappropriated material from Chessville - did not provide
proper attribution, to the point that this was some double standard of
Brennan's own mind, as such.

Which Brennan now complains? The abuser or the would-be-abused?

It would be a most interesting suit for Brennan to appeal, since his worth
as a journalist must be in the tens of dollars, and meanwhile here is his
open libel of stealing music to contrast with it. Of course, if he did not
have that intent in his writing he could (a) learn to write, and (b) retract
it with an apology.

Brennan is over-encouraged by his friends if that is an appropriate term for
fellow misanthropes, and now knows no limits to what he can suggest about
other people. Of course, this CJA [laugh!] also ran [laugh!!] he is as thick
as two planks, and senses nothing.
