Sorry, but this is not a confidential matter. The members have a right
to know why the website is not working.

Also, you have no right to order Bill Hall and Mike Nolan to do
anything.

I am however prepared to acknowledge and pledge to start informing the
membership about what until now has been going on behind closed doors.

Already the members are starting to complain that I have sold out and
have become part of your problem.

Sam,

Indeed the members do have a right to know what is going on with the
organization as well as with their elected officials. Perhaps you can
help with a few questions?

When will you start informing the membership about what until now has
been going on behind closed doors?

At the Executive Board meeting just concluded, I asked that the tape
recordings of the meetings be posted on the uschess.org website. They
promised to do so and claimed that they had simply forgotten to post
the tapes of the meetings during the past year.

When will we see a proposal to have a million scholastic members by
2010? What are the plans for a major expansion in scholastic chess with
guarantees that scholastic dues will at least cover the program's
costs?

At the meeting just concluded, Bill Hall made a proposal, which if
seriously implemented will in my opinion bring in a million members by
2010.

Unfortunately, his proposal is top secret and highly confidential, so I
cannot tell you what it is for the time being.

Where is the proposal to establish a program to certify chess teachers
and helping local teachers and groups of chess teachers set up
corporations so that they can get state and federal funding to teach
chess?

At the meeting in Chicago, Mikhail Korenman made a proposal to certify
chess teachers. I would have voted for it. However, it was referred and
did not yet pass.

When will we see a motion or movement to put the building in Crossville
up for sale for the same price we paid for it?

At the meeting in Chicago, Frank Camaratta made a motion which in
effect prohibited the board from selling the building. A vote was taken
and it passed. I was the only person who voted against the proposal.
So, it seems that we are stuck with the white elephant forever.

And last but not least when will we see a vote to make Joel Channing
USCF president?

Never. He will never be president.

PS I forgot to add that the Webmaster has, in fact, been fired.

Bye-Bye.
