that the uscf ratings are inflated compared to their CFC counterparts, with
very few exceptions.

I would not be so quick to make sweeping pronouncements
based on limited personal experiences. And the very idea
that an imbecile can read minds en mass is just plain silly!

In my own very limited experience with Canadian players,
I discovered that, according to them, it was quite common
practice to travel to the northern states to throw games in
order to drive down their USCF ratings so they could play
in a lower section come the big-money events, like the
New York Open, the World Open, and so forth. That kind
of prize money was simply unavailable in Canadian events,
so it became the primary focus of USCF-rated play. These
guys didn't seem to care a whit about their USCF ratings,
except as a tool to win money, and they regarded their
Canadian ratings as the real measure of relative strength.
FYI: those players were largely from the Toronto area, not
Winterpeg.
