Rob Mitchell's Call to Bill Hall
Today, Rob Mitchell called USCF Executive Director Bill Hall to advise
and recommend that he retain counsel to file suit against Sam Sloan
for revealing that Bill Hall has often been absent from work.
It is not likely that Bill Hall will take this advice because such a
suit would be without legal basis since the members have a right to
know and therefore Sam Sloan has an obligation to reveal that Bill
Hall has been absent from work to an excessive degree.
What is more interesting is that Rob Mitchell is a long-time
USCF-basher, often stating that the USCF should shut down and go out
of business so that a new organization can be started.
There are 36 members of the USCF named Rob Mitchell and this has led
several persons to question which one this Rob Michell is. Indeed, one
poster has suggested that Rob Mitchell may not even be his real name.

ROFL!
The Rob Mitchell who writes to you was a key agent in an historic event,
matching a strong US team against a strong Russian one, including two world
champions, the first time any distance match had been played between the
countries since 1947. Very, I say very, hard to achieve, and no-one reading
this has done anything slightly similar! Not even close, baby!
This event also achieve two hours of live television coverage, and was
up-linked to 30 countries.
The Rob Mitchell whom Sam Sloan 'questions' was an Executive Producer of
this event.
Now - Sam Sloan slithers away from the way he has presented the issue of
Bill Hall's absense, to now question the verite of his [modest!]
interlocuter!
And the issue that is not addressed is what effect Hall's absense has on
USCF's management, but Sam Sloan has not written a word to acknowledge that
he even /understands/ Rob Mitchell's complaint against him. Instead he tries
to eliminate his comment, as if we are to understand that Sam Sloan is
confused by his identity, instead of accepting something about his, Sam
Sloan's, responsibility in the way he reports what may be of real concern.
Sam Sloan does not understand that his own behavior is also of real
concern - he neither understands it, nor acknowledges it. Whatever he means
below about 'best interests of USCF' seem as shy of the issue as hiding
behind the flag.

Another question concerns the fact that this story has been making the
rounds. Whomever first circulated this story does not have the best
interests of the USCF at heart.
