Also, she has not been in the top three women in the world for 23
straight years because she is not in the top three now. She has been
largely inactive since 1992. Currently, the top three women in the
world are Judit Polgar, Humpy Koneru and Pia Cramling. Susan Polgar is
not listed since she has not played since 2004. Before 2004, she had
not played in 8 years since 1996. Naturally, during these long periods
when she is not playing, she cannot claim to be one of the "Top Three
Players" in the world.
I don't see why not. Bobby is still #1 as far as I'm concerned.
Susan scored clear 2nd in the NYC Mayor's Cup in June 2006, after
Kamsky and ahead of Onischuk, Gulko, Ibragimov, and Stripunsky:
In the Petersburg match she played board 1, above Onishuk, Gulko and
Stripunsky. Pity about the first game which we all saw was drawn, and she
drew the second game. Not bad results against W Ch Khalifman.
She also has a pretty impressive record against Bobby Fischer, especially at
blitz, but she don't talk about it much
...and I don't think I can either, except that RJF stopped saying women can't
play chess after their games
when its next interview time with the board i might chuck that in as a
direct question - the thing is, she is no show-off and probably won't
answer - there is a difference between being a performer and having an
inflated ego - and although they often seem the same, there are exceptions

A pretty impressive result for some who's supposedly inactive.
