I'm not member of any chess club and I consider myself to be
a beginner.
Couple of days ago I ordered my first few books about chess.
However, I have a chess program Chessmaster 10th Edition and
I listened through some lectures and did a couple of drills
and also started playing against computer opponents.
I also study openings and currently I'm waiting for my book on
endgame because a lot of people told me that studying the
endgame first is the
way to go.
I'm familiar with the basics like forks, pins, skewers,
discovered attacks and understand a bit
about pawn structures, bad and good bishops etc.
At the moment I'm rated 1526 on Chessmaster.
I was wondering how realistic is that rating?
