FISCHER'S LUNACY

I really enjoyed the article and the way it leads up to making the
final point
that Fischer was a much better competitor than a champion.

II appreciate Fischer's dedication in keeping his "game face" on
from
that day in his young life that he decided to accept the self-
commissioned
challenge of putting aside being a normal adolescent in favor of
becoming the best chess player on the planet. That part is not lunacy.

The lunacy takes over once you realize that after all the
sacrifice and study you have done that a computer will reduce all
your achievements to just another item on the menu.

What sort of mind could just shrug that off and be a good sport about
it?
