While I've always liked and enjoyed chess, I've never been a strong
player. I've found that I tend to freeze up under time pressure so
I've been playing alot of correspondence chess and have improved to
the point where I'm ready to try some live games. I have an account
at FICS and was wondering what type of time controls is appropriate.
5 and 10 minute games are definately out and although I would be
comfortable with an hour I suspect I would have a hard time finding
opponents. Would there be any problem getting games with 30 minute
time controls? So far I've only played the bot there so it didnt
really matter. Thanks in advance.
