Hmmm, but that might be a tad more expensive for telemarketers, if they have
to call from outside the US. On the other hand, perhaps that's the trend:
they can hire telemarketers from Pakistan, and pay the callers pennies on
the dollar. Halfway across the globe, the callers would have to work the
graveyard shift, but big deal.

Evidently, some corporations in the United States, United Kingdom, or Canada
already have relocated their customer service centres (for telephone inquiries)
to India. The Indian customer service representatives are able to speak fluent,
idiomatic American or British (though perhaps not Canadian) English. And they
may have been carefully trained to adopt convincing American, British, or
Canadian telephone personalities, giving the impression that the service call
has been answered by someone in the country of the corporation's nominal origin.
