Default Driving Adult Chess Forward

Rich, don't feel inhibited. We're very eager to learn how the Mensa model
can save USCF. Please post on this subject. Don't hold anything back from
us. The future of western civilization depends on you.

A lot if folks wonder what will become of adult OTB chess. Here's one
thing to think about. One way or another, it will take money to turn it

around
and drive it forward.
A Mensa type treatment would cost Chess HQ money in the form of a

transfer
of capital to the basic market level. A cut in dues might cost Chess HQ

as
much or more that a Mensa treatment.
Or, we can hope that traditional individual "chess capitalist"

promoters
will assume more personal risk in an open market (for adult chess) that

offers
them little or no profitable return in most cases and most places. You

can be
assured that under present circumstances individual promoters will not

drive
adult chess very strongly or very far. The overall operating situation now

is
far different from the 1960's and 1970's.
