of course something like this is 100% subjective. I always thought the
grunfeld against robert burn (not the century game against his brother;
also a grunfeld) was very special. one of my favorite games.


I second your vote on the Robert Byrne game, which is accompanied by the
nice story that the people following the game in a nearby room, with moves
relayed by runners, were told by the GM commentator that Fischer was losing
at the very moment that Byrne was resigning.

For the record, Fischer wins included in "The World's Greatest Chess Games"
were D.Byrne-BF 1956, R. Byrne-BF 1963/4, BF-Panno Buenos Aires 1970,
BF-Larsen, Match game 1, Denver 1971, BF-Petrosian Match game 7 Buenos Aires
1971, BF-Spassky, Game 6 1972, and BF-Spassky, Game 1 1992.
