Default Grandmasters tombs: locations?

ospam (Jerome Bibuld) wrote in message ...
How very interesting. IM Bozidar Kazic, who became a dear friend in the 1970s
and 1980s, once asked me if I could locate the graves of Emmanuel Lasker and
William (nee Wilhelm) Steinitz. (I write "nee Wilhelm", because I was
surprised to see that his gravestone was inscribed William, rather than
Wilhelm.) I did, in a Brooklyn, NY, cemetary, and sent him photographs of
them both, for which he was very thankful.

Dear Mr. Bibuld,

You might be interested in knowing this assessment by a non-chess writer
(which I don't take too seriously):

In "The Jewish 100: A Ranking of the Most Influential Jews of All Time",
Michael Shapiro lists Wilhelm Steinitz at 80th (between Henry Kissinger
at 79 and Arthur Miller at 81), the only chess player named in the book.
