Well isn't the theory supposed to be that one is innnocent until
proven guilty? If so then if he wasn't proven guilty he must be
considered innocent before the law.
Actually, no. A judge can issue a separate finding of factually innocent.
It is rare to do so, but in cases where someone was framed by false
testimony or malicious prosecutorial methods, it happens.
