very old chess books
(David Ames) wrote in rec.games.chess.misc:
Sure, the *difference* in condition refers to available copies, or
were you referring to something else?
Yes I was.
1,000 1905 books without cover and with pages creaked, stained and missing
aren't generally worth a penny (condition) while 2,000,000 books from 1905
in excellent condition aren't generally worth a penny also (availability).
Now wonder what happens when there's only one copy available in excellent
condition, and you happen to have it.
