If chess players can catch this episode of Joan of Arcadia on the
rerun, or on tape, I'm sure they'll enjoy seeing it. At first I
thought chess was going to be used as just another nerd backdrop, left
on the surface, but the writer(s) wove chess into the layered
spiritual themes of the show. Among them, that all of our actions have
consequences.
