Chess is taking over prime time television!

Well not exactly! (Thought that the subject line would get you to look
at my posting though
But I have seen quite a bit of chess on TV lately. Last Sunday's Canadian
drama "Wind At My Back" had quite a bit of chess in its major plot for that
episode. Wind At My Back has a running storyline and has had chess in
multiple episodes and (I'd guess) will contiue to feature chess from time to
time.
Tonight on CBS, the new series "Joan of Arcadia" had a plot where God was
trying to convince Joan to learn chess. (Coincidently Joan's father is
played by Joe Mantegna who also played Fred Waitzkin in "Searching for Bobby
Fischer".)
My local independant station has recently ran reruns of Columbo and Perry
Mason with chess playing a key role in the plot of their respective
episodes.
A great way to scan for such programming is via Yahoo! Go to their TV
schedule section and search by keyword. Enter chess in the keyword field
and you'll likely find all references to chess in their TV guide section for
the next two weeks.
And let's not forget....this November...ESPN carrying 17 hours of Garry
Kasparov vs. Deep Fritz on live TV!
Things are looking up for chess on TV!
Do you remember the name of the episode with chess for Perry Mason ?
It's too long ago for me to remember this one.
It's entitled "The Case of the Lethal Lifestyle" and it was one of the newer
made-for-TV movies (2 hour length made in 1994).
