Default Lev Khariton:Kasparov-Schwarzenegger, Bizarre Friendship

"Aryeh Davidoff" wrote in message
om...

Lev Khariton was not writing about Keres or Junge. But try to open
Magazine "Chess in Russia"( edited by grandmaster Yuri Averbakh) n5
for 1995, and you will find a photo of Alekhine playing with the
highest SS officers who controlled Poland.

Whom did he play ? What highest SS officer : Rudolf Hess ? - he was shot
dead by Polish underground resistance movement - surely he invited Alekhine
to occupied Poland where he was commander-in-chief. Just curious.

Apart from this photograph,
it is authentically established by now that Alekhine was the author of
the most atrocious anti-Semitic articles during the Second World War
in which he wrote dirty things about Lasker, Steinitz, Rubinstein,
Nimzovich...

Aryeh, there were many discussions on his articles during ww2 in this
newsgroup. Just look them up in the archive. I don`t want to discuss them
one more irrelevant time. Maybe he was, maybe he wasn`t the author - for
sure he collaborated with nazis. And that`s no argument against Kasparov or
Schwarzenegger.

I`m just curious about the photos : where can they be found apart from the
"Chess in Russia" and whom did he play ?

Regards,
Jerzy
