Default Who was the WEAKEST ***WOMEN'S*** World Champion of Chess ever?

Dear Peter,

Of course I would want to play chess against Bobby. I love to compete
against all World Champions and top players. That is what chess
players do, play and compete That is my chess player side. I have
respect for all World Champions for what they have done over the
board.

One of the most special moments in my chess career was when Misha Tal
played against me. He was playing in a tournament. I was a spectator
of his game. I told my mother that I would love to have a chance to
play a few blitz games against him. She decided to tell him. A few
minutes later, he offered his opponent a draw to come out to play many
blitz games against me [Don't ask me for the score either but I am
proud of how I did ] I was a very young and inexperienced player at
that time. But it did not matter to him. This is something I would
never forget.

However, being a great chess player does not make you a great role
model. Same goes with athletes in other sports. That is why I like
to conduct myself appropriately at all times. I am more proud of
making positive impacts for the game and be a great role model for
young children (especially girls) than winning chess titles. That is
why my friends and I are working very hard to change the industry for
the better. As my business manager has stated many times before,
chess in America will change dramatically for the better in 2004. I
am quite confident of that.

I have never listened to Bobby's interviews on the radio. We are
chess players. This is a chess forum. Let's only judge Bobby (the
World Champion) for what he has accomplished in chess.

Best wishes,

Susan,

I don't think he would want me to let the world know the actual score. All

I can say is I am very proud of my score and I am quite confident that Bobby
changed his mind about Women's Chess after that.

Then you must have beaten him or at least played even, which is quite
possible taken into account your and his age and the nature of the games:
Blitz games. By the way, did you use the Fischer-clock? In one of the
radio-interviews Fischer says he wants his clock back!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Peter,

I still won't say what the score was unless Bobby gives me the OK to
do so
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

He did not play either of my sisters. Bobby is a charming person if he

did not talk about those few topics we all know about. For most part, we
stayed away from those topics.

That's very hard to understand. Hans Ree in New in Chess: ". this touched
on a strange riddle: how does he reconcile his rabid anti-Semitism with his
personal relations with the Jews?" Didn't Fischer consider you as Jewish?

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes, he knows very well that I am Jewish. I did not agree with what
he said and I changed topics. I don't know why others don't stay out
of these topics. His remarks in certain topics can be disturbing.
But, I view him as a World Champion and I respect his chess abilities.
He should be known and respected for what he has accomplished on the
chess board. Let's leave the other issues be.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Many people have exploited their knowledge of Bobby for personal and
financial gains. Look at all the books and movies using his name. I
have first hand knowledge but I don't think it is ethical to use my
friendship with him to gain financially without his consent. I also
don't think it is right to use his emotions and outburst to sell
stories. If I ever decide to do any project relating to Bobby, I
would want his consent.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have great respect for Bobby's chess skills and I wish him the best
with his life as well as being a Dad. He was very nice to me and my
family.

In a Dutch documentary on Fischer, Sofia is much more negative. She wishes
she never had met Bobby Fischer. You two really differ that much in opinion?

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
So is the world. If I only talk to him about those issues, I would
probably have the same opinion as Sofia. But as I said, I stayed away
from it. For many, they don't like what he said but they keep
bringing the same issues up. Battle of words will not help anyone as
we see from some in this forum. I admire the good things about him
and leave the other stuff out.
