In 1999 the Russian Federation Board Members challenged the USCF Board to a
match which was, erm, declined. Now, three and a half years later, the
gauntlet has been returned by a representative of the current board in
proper Greek style.

Why did I ever get involved in this ?

For serious chess historians, has there ever been a match between two
national boards governing chess, or are we making history here?

Of course, this is a great broadcast opportunity if neither side chickens
out - we are currently comparing ELOs.
