My daughter needs to write a biography for a school project and would like
to use Bobby Fischer as her subject. Could anyone recommend a good
biography or some sources for biographical information.

If you can get your hands on Frank Brady's "Profile of a Prodigy," you'll have
a good Fischer biography.
My personal favorite, however, is not available in English. It is the
German-language edition of "Das Schachphaenomen: Robert Fischer," written by
H. Kramer and S.H. Postma and translated (from the Dutch) by Ludwig Rellstab.
