Now, I want to buy a chess opening book for the first time in my life.
I am a very low level player as you can guess.
Any recommendations?
I'd recommend "Winning Chess Openings" by Yasser Seirawan. It's
written in a casual, verbose style that's easy to read. The coverage
of the material is not as detailed as other opening books, but it's
perfect for beginners and lower-rated players. The focus of the book
is on the basic ideas behind some of the more popular openings, rather
than giving in-depth analysis of esoteric lines that will be above
your head at this point, anyway.
