I have used FEN2Diag extensively with Linares Font by Alpine Software. It
works very nicely for me in Windows XP/2000/98. Although I have had some
problems with MS Word documents that are set up in columnar format.

Check on this page: http://www.chessvariants.com/d.font/fonts.html
In particular look at FEN2DIAG for Word macro(s)... works nicely last
time I
played with it.

This seems like a pretty elementary question, but I can't find an
answer to it. How do you go about creating chess diagrams in a Word
document?
Check whatever chess tools you're already using ... if they have some
way of cutting & pasting diagrams, see if it fits your style.
You need to create a special paragraph style for diagram rows,
though.
If you set the diagram in 16pt, line spacing should be that measure
(16pt)
*exactly*. Anything else will probably mess things up.
Look at http://www.enpassant.dk/chess/dtpeng.htm for more ideas.
