Default Will Bauer replace Hanke as VP of Finance?

(Sam Sloan) gibbered ...
Will Bauer replace Hanke as VP of Finance?

Will Sloan stop inventing rumors from whole cloth?

Randy Bauer has just been elected to the USCF Executive Board and will
take office next month. Bauer is the Budget Director of the State of
Iowa and is eminently well qualified to be the USCF VP of Finance. He
is also a master chess player.

Sloan lulls us by starting off with a few true statements, then veers
into fantasy...

Tim Hanke is the current VP of Finance. He has no qualifications for
the job. He got the position by being the co-leader of a coup to throw
out John McCrary as USCF President.

In fact, I started my professional career as a financial analyst who
wrote financial programs on a mainframe and PC. Early in my career I
was the Budget Analyst for the Kennedy School of Government. I took
many accounting courses and went as far as a CPA Exam Prep Course,
before realizing accounting was simply too dull for me to do it the
rest of my working life.

Hanke has strongly implied that he will resist any efforts to
"impeach" him as Hanke puts it before his two year term is up. It
seems likely that Hanke will resign from the board if he is replaced
as VP of Finance.

There is no effort to "impeach" me other than Sloan's maunderings.
Fortunately Sloan has no standing.

Nevertheless, I hope that Hanke will voluntarily step aside and allow
Bauer to become VP of Finance. For many years the USCF has had
hokus-pokus accounting. Nobody knew what the numbers really
represented. Hanke is not to blame for this. This has been the
situation for a long time, since at least the early 1990s and probably
for a lot longer than that.

I'm glad Sloan doesn't blame me for the USCF's accounting system.

However, as long as Hanke is VP of Finance, nobody will have much
confidence in the figures. With Bauer in as VP of Finance, we will
have confidence in the figures and the USCF will be much stronger as a
result.

Whenever Sloan writes, "Nobody will have much confidence ..." or
"Everyone knows..." he is describing a very small universe of people
consisting solely of himself.

However, Bauer has already committed his first blunder. On Thu, 22 Jul
2004 01:17:46 GMT, "Randy Bauer" wrote:

"I'm obviously pleased by the results (and making plans to fly to Dallas)."

What a whopper! The USCF Executive Board will be meeting in Fort
Lauderdale, Florida, not in Dallas.

There you have it, Bauer can't even figure out where the annual
meeting is being held. How can we trust such a man with debits and
credits? :-)

Nevertheless, I hope that Hanke will do the right thing and step aside
as USCF VP of Finance and allow Bauer to take that position.

Sam Sloan

I will do the right thing and step aside as VP of Finance, the day
Sloan does the right thing and slits his own throat.
