It's not too clear to me, when you purchase Fritz 8, the account they
give you on their playchess.com server, is it for one year or for
ever? I couldn't find the exact details on the Chessbase website, can
anybody offer me this info?
Thanks!
One year.
Well, we have a consensus! My understanding is that it depends *which* software
you have. Buying Tigerchess buys you one year. Buying Shredder6 and,
subsequently, Fritz8 bought me forever, allegedly, although Tom is probably
right that *server updates* will necessitate *software updates*. At least
you're getting a free engine/openings book/set of tablebases/database program
(albeit not quite as functional as ChessBase8, SCID or ChessAssistant [to name
the three leading DB programs]).

Computers are like air conditioners.
As soon you open windows, they stop working.
Ain't *that* the truth?!
