Has Tim Hanke Gone to Iraq Yet?
Apparently, not many have noticed that in late January Tim Hanke posted to both the chess groups and the Latin Language Groups (he teaches Latin in high school) that he intended to go to Iraq and fight for the honor of his country. Since then, he has made only four more postings. His last posting was on February 10, 2005 and compared Susan Polgar to Adolph Hitler. The day before, Hanke lamented that if it turns out that Sam Sloan is not dead it will be a cruel hoax. Hanke's animosity towards Polgar is well known. He met her for the first time at the US Open in Los Angeles in 2003 where he was installed as a member of the Executive Board. Polgar had come there to present a serious business proposal to promote chess in America especially among girls. Hanke responded by making passes at Polgar and pepering her with sexually suggestive remarks. Hanke was threatened with a sexual harassment suit. Ever since, Hanke has been attacking Polgar and his last posting comparing her to Hitler is typical. On February 4, at 9:38 PM Tim Hanke posted under "Sam Sloan Dead": If this is a joke this is in the worst possible taste. I agree. It's just wrong to get people's hopes up like this. Tim Hanke On February 11, 2005 at 3:50 PM Tim Hanke posted under "Chess-live. Notebanned and muted Truong": And GM Susan Polgar? She would be well admired by chess players everywhere They say Hitler had great results at reviving the German economy, too, but that doesn't make him a good person. On Jan 29, 4:34 pm Tim Hanke posted under USCF governance: Now that I have saved the USCF, I'm looking around for something else to do. This is why I re-joined the National Guard two weeks ago. The Iraq mess needs to be cleaned up, and I like a challenge. SGT Tim Hanke Since then, Tim Hanke has been silent. He has not responded to emails. He did not participate in the telephone call of February 27 and he did not attend the Executive Board meeting in Berkeley California on the weekend of April 2-3. Nobody has heard from Tim Hanke in two months. Sam Sloan |

"Goran Tomic" You are form Michigan, and I can find your exact address to
check it. So, please answer sincerely! Are you threatening me? I referred your post to your ISP. Perhaps I did not understand you correctly, but it seemed to me that you were criticizing Tim Hanke because he said he wanted to bomb Yugoslavia. If you were criticizing Tim Hanke, then so was I. But since you are apparently the kind of person that makes personal threats, I am not going to deal with you. Apparently people from Eastern Europe like to make personal threats. Perhaps the reason the USCF is run the way it is has something to do with the people like you. |

Goran routinely threatens those who do not appear to agree with him. He
has gone so far as to call the grieving mother of a poster because he found that individual's name in the death notice of his father on the net. As a matter of course, he will spam everyone associated with that individual ("I tell your cheefs!") in order to try to extract revenge. He has spammed entire chess organizations, clubs, and institutions of higher learning with his drivel. He is, quite simply, a nutcase. |

In all fairness to GT, a lot of people who come from nations that lived under totalitarian regimes have a lot of trauma in their lives. They grew up and learned a system of intimidation, where might makes right, and where people can get away with certain activities as long as they pay off the ones in charge. These folks are never really free of the world they grew up in. Once they are in a free society they still see it through the eyes of their personal history. It is sad, but GT probably cannot understand that in the "free" world, his tactics are ridiculous and only alienate him from others. I hope someday he realizes what he is doing to other people and to himself. Hank |

Apparently, not many have noticed that in late January Tim Hanke posted to both the chess groups and the Latin Language Groups (he teaches Latin in high school) that he intended to go to Iraq and fight for the honor of his country. If I remeber well, Mr. Hanke expressed his readiness to kill some people or extinct some nation earlier. He wrote some years ago that (I paraphrase) that he would help military budget to be efficient in bombardment my country, Yugoslavia. So, if he had some instrict wish to kill, it could be possible he had gone on some "hot spot" on the planet for that reason. But, there are many people who know his origin and his motifs. By the way, some people who went to kill around the world, were brought back home in plastic bags. I think that real democracy is not to feel free for killing around the world but to implement some human values. What would say "Wlod" who was exalted with west "democracy" and wrote some panegyric for it? Did he accept "west concept", "north concept" (Iceland's concept) or "east concept" (Russian's, Yugoslav's concept) of freedom? Regards, Goran Tomic, Yugoslavia |
