I have been told that in order to win one of these elections, I have
to provide the voters with happy talk and not say anything negative. That is why I keep losing. I have this unfortunate habit of telling the truth. The real USCF news is bad, vastly worse than most can even imagine. There are two slates of candidates running for election this year. Each slate has four candidates, enough to control the seven-member board if either slate is elected. There are nine candidates: Two slates of four, plus me. I am the odd man. I am the only candidate who is not part of a slate. If you want to vote for a group of candidates who intend to keep the USCF in their iron grip, with no need to be responsive to the wishes of the other three board members or of the general membership, please vote for one of those slates. Otherwise, you must vote for me, because I am the only truly independent candidate. Four of the candidates running for office this year are full time scholastic chess organizers, who have little or no involvement with adult chess. This in part explains the move to Tennessee and away from New York. Tennessee is where big scholastic chess events are held, but adult tournaments are rarely held there. I am not opposed to scholastic chess, but it should remain as a small part of our big organization. These scholastic organizers can go and form their own organization, but should not try to hijack ours. Typical of them are the false and misleading statements in the April Chess Life. The move to Crossville is a financial disaster. Already they are calculating that the cost of the move alone will be more than two hundred thousand dollars, plus the new building they plan to build will cost more than six hundred thousand dollars, money the USCF does not have. They say that they have saved the USCF and that the USCF is financially sound, but the latest certified financial statement, which is posted at http://www.uschess.org/org/govern/au...31-2004and2003 shows that the USCF has a deficit net worth of $876,124. It is astounding how they can lie with such big lies. They are trying to stop the publication of my candidate's statements in Chess Life. My statement was omitted from the April Chess Life. The Board voted 5-2 not to allow the publication of my statement. That is why a blank space appeared where my statement should have been. All of the incumbents running for re-election voted not to allow my statement to be published in Chess Life. I have a legal and securities background. I have argued orally before the United States Supreme Court (and won)! SEC vs. Sloan, 436 US 103 (1978). I am one of only two candidates who is not involved in chess related businesses and who is not trying to make money off of chess. You can be sure that I have no conflicts of interest. |

Oh puh-lease.
You keep losing because you are a liar and an opportunist. All one has to do is read your voluminous posts like, "Driving my taxi cab into the East River", or go to your web site and look at the pix of your girlfriend (the photos lifted from the pages of Playboy). You don't have to talk happy talk Sam, you have to walk the walk, and talk the talk. The two things have to be consistent, honest, and you require skills unknown you your level of education. I dare say that right now you don't even know what I am talking about. That is how high your self delusional state has reached. The one thing we can be sure about when it comes to your personality is that to tell if you're lying all we need do is see if your lips are moving. -- Tom Klem "A lie gets half-way round the world before the truth get's its pants on!" ---Winston Churchill "Sam Sloan" wrote in message ... Huh?
What in blazes are you talking about? I have nothing to do now, nor have ever had anything to do with any school board, except when they gave me my high school diploma back in the day. -- Tom Klem "How'd they get like this?" ---Monkey Planet, Pierre Boulet "Chuck Connors" wrote in message ...
