Zsuzsa Polgar is on the Cover of Parade Magazine for July 17, 2005
Run to the news-stands quick. The picture of Susan Polgar is on the cover of Parade Magazine right now. Parade is a weekly insert that is carried in the Sunday editions of newspapers around the country. In New York City, it is carried in the New York Post and Newsday. The article is entitled Are men Smarter than Women? It compares the smartest men such as Albert Einstein, Bill Gates and Stephen Hawking to the smartest women such as Marie Curie, Sandra Day O Conner and of course Susan Polgar. http://parade.com/ http://www.parade.com/current/coverstory/index.html I just went out and bought two copies of Parade Magazine with Zsuzsa Polgar on the cover. You can also vote on whether you believe that Susan Polgar is one of the five smartest people: http://parade.qualtrics.com/TakeSurv...nseCheck=false Fantastic. It is amazing how Paul Truong consistently is able to get these things done. Sam Sloan |

Does that include her choice of a husband? |

Wow! Chess on the cover of Parade. You know how Chess HQ loves that.
They're always hoping for the next Fischer boom. Won't happen. Old Haasie |

It's a disgrace for the Chess HQ to put her on the cover of Parade. I
look much better than her and I know Fischer personally. The Handsome Sam Sloan |

But you won't read about it in these politics threads Randy. I think its 50+ articles so far this year about Susan Polgar in national media. That's more than Fischer. Now it will be TV too. Chess politicians have by their available wit and its deployment, reduced rated players in the US by 15,000 these past 2 years. You won't read about that either. Phil Innes |

You are right about the cause of the membership decline. Politicians raised the dues too high, collapsing membership around the country and effectively shutting down chess in many areas. For $49 we should have a Mensa styled chess federation. Failing that, the dues should be well under $40. Even $30 seems a little high given the skimpy membership benefits. Richard Haas |
