GetClub Chess improved once again !!! by Sanny
So GetClub Fans Clap again. Now GetClub was improved again. I was thinking now GetClub can't be improved further due to huge complexity in the game. But a little improvement was done today. Todays improvement was based on Help Bots Suggestions. Now it will play much better tactical game than earlier. So Help bot will find Normal Level a much difficult. You will have to think a lot to win it...

USCF turn down a million$ by samsloan
I am just wondering about the math. The Polgar blogspot says: "Last year, Texas Tech University generously agreed to host the Susan Polgar National Invitational for Girls, the most prestigious all-girls event in the United States, for the next 10 years and award a four- year academic scholarship for the winner each year to attend TTU. That is nearly an $800,000 sponsorship...

USCF turn down a million$ by samsloan
Once again Susan Polgar has completely falsified the situation. The Denker Tournament of High School Champions was founded and funded by Grandmaster Arnold Denker. Grandmaster Denker died in January 2005 but since then his son has carried on the tradition established by his father and has continued to provide the finds to hold the event. I have spoken to the son myself about this and he wants to...

Polgar Threatens to Sue the USCF by samsloan
The following was posted by Susan Polgar on her chessdiscussion.com group at http://www.chessdiscussion.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1267 It contains a clear legal threat to file a lawsuit: "At this moment, the USCF has to deal with 2 frivolous lawsuits and 3 potential legal problems from the former employees, Chess Cafe and my own attorneys. All board members and the USCF ED received a...

Chessville claims Chess Life to "go under" by samsloan
The Chessville website, which calls itself the most popular chess website, has an article this week which states that Chess Life magazine will go under. This article was apparently written by Phil Innes. The article reflects many claims to be found on Susan Polgar's http://www.chessdiscussion.com website. Innes is known to be in close contact with Susan Polgar. See, for example, the Susan Polgar...

"Knights of the South Bronx", is it true? by samsloan
I just saw the movie "Knights of the South Bronx" on video. It is a great movie and good for chess. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0471768/ But, is it true? It claims that an inner city team from a public school in the South Bronx won the national scholastic championship in Dallas. Did this really happen?

Petition to Recall Bill Goichberg from the USCF Executive Board by samsloan
Petition to Recall Bill Goichberg from the USCF Executive Board To the USCF Delegates and Alternates: Nobody campaigned harder than I did to make Bill Goichberg the USCF President. Goichberg wanted to be USCF President for many decades and I felt that he deserved the chance. However, now, Bill Goichberg has been USCF President for three years. Every year of those three years, the USCF has...

Is this game properly played by Master Level? by Sanny
In this game Master Level lost its pawn 2 times. After analysing a lot with my small brains (1100 rated) I could not see how those pawns can be saved. What do (2100+ rated) players say? Can those two pawns be saved from the Zebediah's Jaws? First Pawn was taken by Queen at 20th move.

This time I agree with Susan. I will tell you why later. by samsloan
In the last few years, a number of major companies have folded, reorganized their business, or changed their business models. With the skyrocketing fuel prices, increasing unemployment rate, and price crashing in real estate, it is increasingly more difficult for companies to sustain the same level of business. This is why I urged the USCF in the past few years to change the status quo to become...

What is Rating of Rybka and other Programs? by Sanny
I read on internet Rybka is 3100 rated. And Fritz is 2900 Rated is it true? When they say Rybka is 3100 Rated How much time they give it for each Move. As I played Rybka (5 sec / move) against Normal Level (100 sec / move) and found both play equally well. So when Rybka is playing at 5 sec / move is it playing with 3100

GetClub Chess made Twice Better. by Sanny
Today again GetClub Chess was further improved and it will play Twice Better. This time a bug was removed. 1 week back GetClub was 16 times weaker than Normal Level. Now GetClub Chess is just 8 times weaker than Rybka. So The move Rybka takes 5 seconds to think, GetClub will take 5*8 = 40 Seconds. So in 40 seconds GetClub will play same move that Rybka thinks in 5

Ed Labate vs. Ed Trice by samsloan
Things are really heating up and it is going to be interesting as Ed Labate and Ed Trice threaten each other. I do not know either of them so I have no opinion as to who is right, but Ed Labate has been involved in chess both as a book seller and as a tournament organizer for at least 40 years whereas Ed Trice is a recently arrived huxter, so I am inclined to believe that Ed Labate is right and...

Two Rooks vs Knight+Rook ending? by Sanny
Here is a game where Master Level has 2 Rooks left with 6 pawns and Help Bot has Rook and Knight and 7 Pawns. So Help Bot had Knight+Pawn vs Rook. So Master Level was at advantage at Rook is equal to Knight + 2 Pawns while Help bot had only 1 extra pawn. But Help Bot advanced its pawns and killed many pawns of GetClub.
