GetClub Easy Level vs Rybka by Sanny
Yesterday again GetClub game was improved. Now it will play with better strategy. I played a game against Rybka. Rybka took 40 moves to win the Easy Level. And it was only because of Tactics that Rybka win. Earlier Rybka used to get a Queen up rill end game comes. But now Rybka was just a Bishop up when end game came. Later it got the Queen and win.

Help Bot struggled to beat the Advance Level. by Sanny
Help Bot played against Advance Level and to my surprise win the game. I find Help Bot created a wall of pawns So that Advance Level which thinks 18 depth deep could not peneterate the wall. And in the end Help Bot was able to get one good Combination and win the Game. Looks like GetClub is still a baby for Help Bot. He played moves in just 2 min / move while GetClub was thinking 30 min / move....

Is there a championship for bullet chess? by James L. Hankins
I would think there has to be, but I never hear anything about it. Also, it seems that playing with computers on-line would be the best way to conduct such a tournament rather than the clunky way with the chess boards and the clocks. I watch Nakamura on ICC play bullet and it's amazing how good he is. But other than the tournaments on ICC and the other sites, is there a recognized event...

Bauer simply cannot understand by samsloan
On Thu, May 22, 2008 at 8:46 PM, Randy Bauer wrote: I wish people would stop characterizing this as a decision as to whether or not to maintain a printed Chess Life. The proposal the Board voted on maintains a printed Chess Life. While I appreciate Don's willingness to present an alternate idea, I'm not sure that we could contractually separate life members...

Reasons Why Polgar Did not Stay for the Board Meeting in Tulsa by samsloan
Reasons Why Polgar Did not Stay for the Board Meeting in Tulsa What Polgar actually wrote seems reasonable unless one considers the fact that when they ran for election they knew that the board met four times a year and the most important part of their duties was that they would be expected to attend those four meeting. It was known months in advance that there would be a meeting this...

On Wed, May 21, 2008 at 10:45 PM, David Quinn wrote: Oh so Joel Benjamin is one of the sacred cows? Well I thought his column was rather boring, guess I'm not alone. Are people complaining? Yes. I might as well come out with it. Joel Benjamin is indeed one of the sacred cows. No, nobody has complained about him because nobody

The Official Trolgar Attitude Toward the USCF Membership by samsloan
What Polgar actually wrote seems reasonable unless one considers the fact that when they ran for election they knew that the board met four times a year and the most important part of their duties was that they would be expected to attend those four meeting. It was known months in advance that there would be a meeting this past weekend in Tulsa. No doubt some details were not provided but...

Polgar is right for once by samsloan
Polgar is right for once As everybody knows, I have been extremely critical of Paul Truong and Susan Polgar. However, a posting by Polgar that became public today is so obviously correct that I need to point that out. In an online debate with Bill Goichberg, in a message dated 5/6/2008 10:05:55 P.M. Eastern Daylight Time, SusanPolgar writes: "You on your own made a number of decisions shortly...

Goichberg's "New Plan" for the USCF by samsloan
Bill Goichberg has been circulating a "new plan". Essentially, his new plan calls for a reinstatement of the "no magazine membership". Regular dues for those who want the magazine will be $42. Those who do not want the magazine will only have to pay $29. In the fiscal year ending May 30, 2008, three weeks from today, the USCF will have lost $300,000. Bill Goichberg seems to think that this...
