Fractured Board by samsloan
I have received a report that there is support among some delegates for the idea of simply abolishing the entire USCF Executive Board. The delegates cannot remove an individual board member, but it does have the legal authority to abolish the entire board. There are now three types of board members: 1. Paul Truong and Susan Polgar. Truong has been proven to have forged 2464 Internet newsgroup...

Mate in 10 by Beginner Level (one more) by Sanny
Mate in 10 by Beginner Level. In this game a new player named "Tango" played a game with Beginner Level. Beginner won the game in just 10 moves. I think he should have played with Queen odds. Game Played between Tango and beginner at GetClub.com -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tango: (Black)

Does the USCF have a $144,000 loss ?? by samsloan
Copied from http://www.chessdiscussion.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1331 Paul and I have repeatedly asked to see the financial report and we were told that it will come soon... This was a while back. We still do not have it. Today, we received the report from Ms. Alarie and the following note: Since they were leaked to me and not sent to me by USCF's Finance Chair or the USCF office, I see no...

Moderator Control of the Debate on the USCF Issues Forum by samsloan
Thank you. I much prefer for the moderators to do it this way, pointing out an unsupported claim made by Steve Owens and asking him to provide proof of it, rather than what the moderators usually do, which is not allow it to appear at all. I am quite curious and have no idea what Steve Owens means when he writes, "You were the only person in the USCF to have attempted to unethically influence my...

Goichberg Refuses to Release Financials to the Other Board Members by samsloan
Bill Goichberg is being evasive as usual. The annual audited financial report is usually not available until at the earliest the day before the delegates meeting, which this year will be August 8, 2008. Everybody knows this. In 2007 the official financial statements were not even ready until a few weeks after the delegate's meetings. What they and the other board members want now are the...

Should the Perks Suggestion be Implemented? by samsloan
Should the Perks Suggestion be Implemented? Immediately after losing the election to Sam Sloan for the USCF Executive Board in July 2006, Grant Perks proposed that the delegates abolish the entire USCF Executive Board as a way to prevent Sam Sloan from taking office. As Perks pointed out, the delegates do not have the authority to remove an individual board member, but they do have the...

Failure to Disclose Expenses of Board Members by samsloan
Failure to Disclose Expenses of Board Members The USCF By-Laws clearly state that all payments to board members must be disclosed in the delegates call and on the website. This provision is found in section 42 page 39 of the current Delegates Call. It is not on the website, or at least I cannot find it, but page 7 of the Delegates Call shows the following VOLUNTEER EXPENSE REPORT paid during...

Goichberg is being hoist by his own petard by samsloan
Goichberg is being hoist by his own petard "Hoist by His Own Petard" is a term perhaps derived from Shakespeare which means to be caught in one's own trap. http://www.bartleby.com/59/4/hoistbyoneso.html http://www.phrases.org.uk/meanings/hoist%20by%20your%20own%20petard.html What is happening to Bill Goichberg, current USCF President, is a

Stupidest game of the month. 11 move Mate. by Sanny
I played Beginner. I played Handicap Level and got a Knight Extra. At GetClub with Handicap Level you can turn any level with a Knight/ Bishop/ Rook/ Queen Extra. I thought that beginer without a Knight will be easy for me to win. But when I played the game Beginner gave me Check Mate even without a Knight.

What is especially interesting is to look at what Gregory Alexander complains was leaked. Here are the relevant direct quotes from what Gregory complains about: http://www.chessdiscussion.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1299&start=40 "Mr. Winchester, "You removed (or caused the removal of) a number of posts on the Joe

The Polgar "Resignation Offer" by samsloan
by jlemoine on Thu Jul 03, 2008 2:06 am My take on this story: In a dramatic challenge to President Goichberg and the rest of her opponents, Susan Polgar offered to resign from the USCF Executive Board Monday provided they (1) "give me the FULL CONSENT to release all information to ALL USCF members" and (2) " If I cannot prove what I said is true then I will resign immediately." The other half...

Looking Back: Truong and Polgar concealed their marriage to eachother by samsloan
During their campaign to be elected to the USCF Executive Board, Polgar and Truong concealed the fact that they were married to each other. Here is one example from the USCF Forums in January 2007: http://main.uschess.org/forums/viewtopic.php?p=27774#27774

Ethics Committee Takes No Action on Complaint Against Truong by samsloan
Wayne Praeder has just posted on his website information about his ethics complaint against Paul Truong regarding the Fake Sam Sloan Postings. http://members.aol.com/wpraeder/case.htm It appears that in January 2008, Praeder filed a complaint against Truong regarding the so-called "Fake Sam Sloan" postings in which Truong over a two year period impersonated numerous other chess personalities,...

USCF "Volunteer of the Month" by samsloan
In one of her first acts after being elected to the USCF Executive Board, Susan Polgar named Gregory Alexander as "Volunteer of the Month". However, Gregory Alexander does not even have a USCF rating nor has he ever directed a USCF rated tournament. He only recently joined the USCF. http://www.uschess.org/msa/MbrDtlMain.php?13474581

Substitution of Attorneys for Joel Channing in Parker vs. USCF by samsloan
This might be a major development, or perhaps not. Previously, the law firm of Cozen O'Conner entered an appearance representing Joel Channing, Bill Goichberg and the USCF in the Gordon Roy Parker case. However, today, July 11, 2008, Cozen O'Conner withdrew as counsel for Joel Channing, while continuing as counsel for William Goichberg and the USCF. The new counsel for Joel Channing are Wendi...
