Default Sarah Palin Award for Incomprehensible Answer

I hereby move that we create a Sarah Palin Award for Incomprehensible
Answer.

As many people are aware, Our Future President Sarah Palin set some
sort of record for Incomprehensible Answer, topping even the infamous
answer that Miss Tenn South Carolina gave in the 2007 Miss Teen USA
Beauty Contest.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r36Xc0GG4iQ

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lj3iNxZ8Dww

Not only was the answer given by Sarah Palin far more
incomprehensible, but Miss Teen South Carolina was not running for
president.

In honor of the achievement by Our Future President in giving an
utterly incomprehensible answer to Katie Couric, we should give out an
award to one of our own, memorializing the same.

I hereby nominate the recent posting by Phil Innes for the most
incomprehensible posting. I urge readers of this forum to find one
that can top this. However, to be fair, you are allowed to use other
postings by Phil Innes. As Innes is by far the most incomprehensible
person to post here, it would be unfair to limit the entries to
posting by others.

So, here is the posting that I nominate for this award. Other entries
are welcome:

**Gosh - now Sam Sloan drops the ideas of ratings altogether - as if
he
doesn't understand the issue - and it may seem so, since Sam Sloan at
the
same time also snipped the context of the very thing he complains
about,
while providing a ratings list - the dufus-like understanding of the
Category 15 rr event has dissapeared entirely, as if those facts too
were
nothing to such as he. Much better to keep beggaring the truth of
everything
as some way to justify your own existance? Sloan's lists of things are
longer than there are things to list, which includes various
inventions, as
if from the basis of an improbable understanding of what seems plain
enough
to the vast majority of people. Sloan concludes as if my rating Susan
Polgar
was less than those listed, despite a couple of pretty strong
performances
against ex W Ch Karpov, scoring 50%, a player who could take Sloan's
list on
in a simul. Phil Innes [the usual newsgroups deleted, since Sloan
adds
them back in since the more confusion to his constant calumnys, the
better.

Are we restricted to posts from the chess groups? P Innes has posted
some bizarre grammar-bending stuff to

How about giving Sam the Joe Biden Award For Unbelievable Ignorance,
given only to those who say things as stupid as claiming that
President Roosevelt appeared on TV in 1929 to explain the stock market
crash?

Certainly the quote by Joe Biden that Roosevelt appeared on TV in 1929
displayed unbelievable ignorance, when Roosevelt did not become
president until 1933 and TV did not become available in homes before
the 1950s.

However, the test here is for incomprehensible answer, not
unbelievable ignorance.

I am sure Biden's answer is worthy of some kind of award, but not this
one.

You do realize, I assume, that the clip is of comedienne Tina Fey (one
of Obama's media poodles) and not Sarah Palin. That being said, I'd
have to agree that Phil's comment has many similarities to an SNL
parody.

That is not an accurate report of what Biden said, as this clip
shows:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Glrnb_G34E4

Certainly the quote by Joe Biden that Roosevelt appeared on TV in 1929
displayed unbelievable ignorance,

Biden never said 1929, or any particular year, in the statement in
question.

when Roosevelt did not become
president until 1933 and TV did not become available in homes before
the 1950s.

Concerning FDR using TV, Biden was wrong. But his main point was
accurate, that FDR did discuss the economic issues raised by the Great
Depression candidly with the American people. However, he did it
mostly by radio, not television, which was then in its infancy.
