George W. Bush said today that his new plan will authorize the
Treasury to buy bad mortgage-related investments from finance companies, unfreezing the credit markets by freeing up banks and finance firms to lend once again. Does not he know that Communism is no longer in favor? Having the federal government spend billions of taxpayer dollars to buy private homes to prevent homeowners from being evicted is exactly that: Communism. And it will not work. The government's efforts to stop the stock market from collapsing will have exactly the opposite effect: Causing it to drop further. Investors will have no confidence in an economy so weak that it needs to be propped up by the government. This is just basic economics. How did we elect a president that does not understand that? Sam Sloan The demos plan which was in part implemented with the "buy out" deal is going to come back on us the taxpayers and not on the big buisnesses and the very wealthy.Whatever they have to forfiet we will end up having to "pay back'.The classic "trickle down"effect |
