That's because Kramnik has been playing the Petroff rather than the
Svesnikov Sicilian lately. Most people don't know that Kramnik is
probably the best player of the Svesnikov Sicilian.

How can White have lost 26% of these games, yet Black has won 0%?
And White has drawn 22%, but Black drew 46%?? Who was White playing
against -- Beige? Pink? Chartreuse? With whom did Black draw --
Magenta? Puce? Teal?

Oh, Taylor. Say he played 100 games as White, and won 52 of them, drew
22 of them, and lost 26 of them. That would mean that he won 52% of
his games with White, drew 22%, and lost 26%.
Similarly, say he played 100 games as Black, and drew 46 of them, and
lost 54 of them. You see where we go with this...

He who? The page the link takes me to doesn't say. I had thought the
percentages referred to the results of a group of players against each
other. But if it refers to just one individual, then I was mistaken
and the stats are plausible.

I certainly read them as referring to one player, namely, Kramnik. If
indeed the stats refer to a group of players, then they are
impossible, of course

The correct link is http://ratings.fide.com/card.phtml?event=4101588

Now FIDE is adding the number of games played:

Kramnik, Vladimir

Color Percentage:
29 game(s) with White : Win: 52% Draw: 22% Loss: 26%
28 game(s) with Black : Win: 0% Draw: 46% Loss: 54%

Statistics are valid for the tournaments submitted with color
information after January 2007.

I'm still slightly surprised that Kramnik hasn't won a single game
with black in the last fifteen months. And that he's only scored 23%
with the black pieces in that time.

Seems that Drawnik ought to be renamed Winwithwhitenik or
Losewithblacknik. ;-)

Those previous figures seemed to be a bit odd, so I asked FIDE if
there was something wrong with the calculations, and they answered
saying "statistics have been updated". The new figures of Kramnik a

Color Percentage:
29 game(s) with White : Win: 52% Draw: 45% Loss: 3%
28 game(s) with Black : Win: 0% Draw: 93% Loss: 7%

0 win with Black.
1 loss with White.
2 losses with Black.

Better!
