Default a game amongst 2 weaker opponents

Hi guys,

this is a game I played on Yahoo chess against an opponent rated approx.
1400, I'm 1450 (Y rating)

I 'd like to hear your comments on this. I was particularly proud of
move 26 which is one easily missed for people on my level :-)
I tried to quote my thoughts, I'd appreciate some feedback on this.

I'm white, here it goes:

1. g3 e5 2. b3 Nf6 3. e3 h6 4. Bb2 d6 5. Bg2 Be7 6. Nc3 O-O 7. Nge2

This is an opening I like to play, I'm not sure if it officially goes
like this, but I get some decent results with it

.... Nc6 8. h3 d5 9. d3 Bb4 10. a3 Bxc3+

This is a misstake I feel, I would've never given away the black bishop

11. Bxc3 d4 12. Bb2 dxe3 13. fxe3 Re8 14. e4 Nd4

Here I thought not to take the Knight, because I wanted to protect my
King behind the black pawn on e5 from the rook on e8

15. Qd2 Nxe2 16. Qxe2 c5 17. g4 Nd7

I felt the time was ripe for an all out attack, exactly the reason why I
like to play this opening
he blocks his bisshop with his knight on this move, which gives me some
extra punch in the attack

18. h4 Qf6

A mistake I feel, exposing the Queen

19. O-O-O Nb6 20. Rdf1 Qg6

even bigger misstake! pawn to g5 opens the g or h file for me
I'm glad to lose a pawn for that
his next move just loses his h pawn and probably the game

21. g5 h5 22. Bf3 Bg4 23. Bxg4 hxg4 24. Qxg4 Re6 25. h5 Qh7 26. Rxf7

Very proud of this! :-) This is not a move I would normally see, (bare
in mind that I usually play 6/3 games)

.... Rf8 27. Rxf8+ Kxf8 28. Qxe6

black resigns

Don't ever say never. Look at each position on its own. In many positions
knights are stronger than bishops. 10...Bxc3 is actually okay... it's not a
"mistake" at all.

In fact, I believe Black actually has a very slight edge after 11. Bxc3

14. e4 Nd4
Here I thought not to take the Knight, because I wanted to protect my King
behind the black pawn on e5 from the rook on e8

If you DON'T take the knight, it will enjoy a long and prosperous life on
that wonderful d4 square. In that position, that knight is the strongest
minor piece on board. In fact, it's even stronger right now than either of
Black's two rooks.

15. Qd2 Nxe2

For this reason, Black shouldn't have exchanged. 15... c5, supporting the
knight was called for.

After 15... c5 I like Black's position.

16. Qxe2 c5 17. g4 Nd7

White now has only a very slight edge here. Slight edge. Black played Nd7
because he is (or should be) repositioning his knight, via f8 and e6 to go
to the lovely d4 or f4 squares.

White's position is full of holes (e3, f4, g3), his king bishop is now not
ideally placed, and he needs to complete his own development.

18. h4 Qf6

I agree, this is not good. Better would have been to stick with the "plan"
and play Nf8. The queen is not serving any purpose on the open f file.

19. O-O-O Nb6

This was bad. This knight has no future here. Where does it think it is
going? a4, c4, and d5 are all guarded by pawns. NOW White has a very nice
edge. His a8 Rook and b6 Knight are effectively out of the game. In fact,
at this point, the rest of the game is easy to play and deserves no further
comment. Nice work and thanks for sharing.

off course i realize this, I meant to say '...black bishop in this position'

I thought I would have plenty of time to take it later on, I have a
bishop and a knoght I could use for that

Thanx, this helped
