5rk1/pp3pbp/1qb3p1/2p1n1B1/4P3/P1N4P/1PPQBPP1/2KR4 b - - 0 20

game continued 1. .... Bxe4 2. Nxe4 Nc4 and white lost by playing 3. Qc3 ??

obviously this was a game between 2 rather weak players

is black's first move ok?

Black's move is okay, but in view of below might try Nd7.

White shouldn't have played Nxe4??, as white will be helpless against Nc4!

Black now has the chance to mate with Bishop/Queen or Knight/Queen
Combination.
White can only stop this by forfeiting his Queen.

Better would have been: 2.Bd8! Qe6
2. Bd8 Rxd8? 3.Qxd8+ Qxd8 4.Rxd8 winning for white
2. Bd8 Qxd8? is just a transposition for the above.
2. Bd8 Qe6 3.Nxe4

Alternative:
1... Nd7 {2.Bh6 just to remove black's Bishop on g7}

Best regards,
Fernando
