Hope your e5 was premature - otherwise it sure is curtains !

No one else is taking an interest in this beautiful game we are playing
here - come on Randy Bauer, Jack Rudd, Henri
how do you rate it ?

Yes I only know 3 games including 6. Be2

The audience are clearly odd for ignoring this exceptional game !

Well, it's up to you to show whether 8. e5 is premature or not.
We surely are on new territory here and what I want to show is:
After 5... e6 the move 6. Be2 is much better than the
ususal Bc4 that has no point but barring the open
c-file and and delivering a target for attacks of black pawns.

Let's play some more moves, you can always stop...

DC

PS.: Where is the audience? I doubt that anyone is taking
notice.... How are the odds?

There is a big difference whether black first plays d6 or e6 in the Morra,
I have learned this by my analysis. So that's why I first play Nf3 in order
to see what happens. The white bishop has no future on c4 after
black played e6 before d6. Players don't see this, and this is one
of the main reasons for the bad reputation of the Morra.
The deeper reason here is: In a gambit each tempo is a most
valuable asset, and White is forced to remove the bishop from c4,
which results in a loss of tempo which can be decisive.
This loss of tempo doesn't occur in the d6-variation of the Morra.

Take care,
DC
