Is my way of practice correct (help) by
sathya_me
Dear NG,
I first apology for my cross postings to different news groups.
Since I wanted to become a serious player following are the way I
practice at home:
1)Playing one and half hour games with Deep fritz-8 by setting up the
Opening training mode
and learning the Specified line. I definitely loose but each time It
shows me to play the correct position.

Nimzowitsch "My System" ??Analysis Error by
Paul Tervit
I need a Nimzowitsch "My System" expert, ie one who knows this book
backwards.
In the chapter "The passed pawn" Game: Alekhine-Treybal (Baden-Baden 1925)
27. e4 f6 28. exd5 fxe5 29. d6!!
Nimzowitsch offers a variation to the actual game:
29 ... e4+! 30. Kxe4 Rxd6 31. Ke5!! Rcd8 followed by 32. Bxe6.

Evans Gambit with 7...Nf6 by
Toni Lassila
Included for your study is a pleasing miniature I played in the Evans
Gambit. I believe after 8...Ne4 Black is lost and give some lines to
back this up. Is there some other defense at his disposal I have
missed?
T.Lassila - N.N
1. e4 e5
2. Nf3 Nc6
3. Bc4 Bc5

Positional analysis for a beginner please help..... by
Avanti
4rrk1/p5pp/2p5/npq1P3/2p2B2/P1P3P1/2Q1R2P/5RK1 w - -
White is in check and has 5 options to remove the check, Black has an extra
pawn but white's e5 pawn looks dangerous, black's knight is not on a good
square but then white's dark square bishop is pretending to be a pawn,
black could capture the a3 pawn but this may lose as his pieces will be out
of play,
is this a drawn game?
What is white's...

Categorising PGN into its ECO ? by
Peter Billam
Greetings. There are some openings that seem really hard to
classify into the ECO system.
For example, 1. c4 Nf6 2. Nc3 c6 3. e4 d5
gets classified under: A16 B10 B13 B14 D31 D40 E54 !
Or, 1. d4 d5 2. c4 c6 3. Nc3 e6 4. e4 Nf6 5. e5 Nfd7 6. cd5 cd5
is found under both A16 and D31, (and the same position could
also arise in other ways involving c3, ...c5 and ...cd4)
