I am looking for an elo rating calculator program by
Mogath3
I am looking for an elo rating calculator program. EloCalc doesn't fit my needs
and I don't want to use one online. It needs to be a downloadable program. Been
looking for awhile and have turned up nothing. Any help anyone can provide is
greatly appreciated. Thanks very much.
Regards,
Jeff

French Mac Cutcheon by
Jean-Louis Ricard
I intend to study the Mac Cutcheon in depth.
Could you please suggest a few books on the French defence where it is
well
documented?

Fritz 8 and $ characters in annotation by
Martin Wilber
Is there a way I can get Fritz 8 to annotate games and create an
annotated pgn file without the $nn characters in it? Where nn is a
number, such as $11.
thanks
Marty

question about Mikhail Tal book by Chess Stars by
Ivan
Are the books in the 4 volume set analyzed with text or do they use
the informant style with just a bunch of variations and codes ?
I like how they did the super tournament series which uses detailed
text for analysis. is that how the books are set up ?

Sam Sloan Vs. Marinelli by
Ivan
This is another case of Sam Sloan being the underdog challenging the
corrupt USCF. I hope that Sam triumphs over evil.

Why are combinations so much fun? by
Ron
Even when they're simple and thematic.
Not a particularly hard position to solve. White to play and win. I
suppose the only real challenge here was finding it over the board in a
blitz game.

e4 of d4? by
Ivan
Which is better?
Is it better to play 1.e4 on the first move or 1.d4/1.c4 to lead to
closed positions on the first move?
Since Kramnik is now playing 1.e4, does that mean that it is better?
Why did he change?

Pia Cramling by
W T Harvey
Cramling got her Grandmaster title in 1992, after scoring her first
norm in 1989 (``I defeated my brother when I scored that norm too,''
she laughs). ``Becoming a Grandmaster was indeed my greatest dream,
but I feel I should have completed the title long before that.''
In 1983 she was ranked No. 1 among women in the world, and held that
position for two years. Her highest rating was 2545 in...
