How should white follow up this danish gambit line? 1.e4 e5 2.d4 exd4 3.c3 dxc3 4.Bc4 cxb2 5.Bxb2 d6 6.Qb3 Be6. I can't see anything better than 7.Bxe6 fxe6 8.Qxe6+ (8.Qxb7 doesn't look apealing) but then, even after 8...Qe7 I can't find anything better than 8.Qc8+ Qd8 9.QxQ+ (again Qxb7 doesn't look appealing) KxQ which looks like equality at most. What am I missing? Thanks.

The word is he promised Sam Sloan that he'll sue the USCF if Sloan doesn't win. It's now most likely that Sloan will finish 9th, will he sue the USCF? It's big money for Lafferty so it'll be interesting to see his true plan.

There is a big issue here. Last year, the office delayed the payment of prizes for the National Open until after May 31 although the tournament was played much earlier. Since the fiscal year ends on May 31, that made the USCF bottom line look better for the 2005-2006 fiscal year. (The USCF still lost $130,000 even after this enhancement.) We have been expecting a similar phony deal to happen...
