without moving the pieces, study the board and come up with what you believe
is White's best move. Both sides have...

Berlin Wall by
Geir Tveit
The opening "Berlin Wall" is mentioned in a book i am reading on the
Taimanov System. The Berlin Wall is mentioned as an opening strong players
often use against equal opponents. What are the opening moves for "The
Berlin Wall" ?

Black's best move? by
42N83W
2r3k1/pp3ppp/3p1b2/3n1b2/P4P2/8/3KP2P/3Q2R1 b - - 0 35
This is from a hastily hand written board position from a game I'm playing
with a co-worker (work is fun!), therefore the 35 is just a made up move
number. I'm Black and I've played moves since, but this is the position
that had me troubled. Even though I've lost my Queen, I still like my
chances, and it seems I'm tantalizing close at this...

Yankee's Fans Get a Treat! by
Ken Lovering
It was Old Timers Day!
What an emotional outcry from the fans............and that was just for the
hot dogs.........
There's evidence some of the players may still be on steroids...........In
the 1st inning, the very 1st batter bunted the ball into the upper
deck..........
The Washington Nationals have a good chance at winning the World
Series..............all of the other teams have agreed to...

Caro Kann by
Rik
I have to play a 1/4 final match at my club against a caro kann player.
Since i've never encountered these lines, i'm playing for 2 years now, what
opening would you recommend to me? I like to play the Ruy Lopez and the
Sicilian Defense and the Nimzo-Indian agains d4. What line would suit me?
Maybe the Bayonet Attack? I feel bad playing defensive, cramped positions. By
the way , my opponent is...

Centre Game Results! by
Ken Lovering
Well guyz..........he played exactly, almost, what I expected him to play!
The almost: he played Bd3 on his 8th move, instead of b4. He saved that for
his 10th move.
So........I'm out of "book" on the 8th, trying to figure out how not to
waste a move with d6, when I know I might have to play d5, while at the same
time doing something useful.
1. e4 e5 2. d4 exd4 3. Nf3 Bb4+ 4. c3 dxc3 5. Nxc3...

Gallagher Anti Indian Analysis - London System by
Carl Tillotson
Am I missing something obvious here?
In his "Beating the Anti-King's Indians", Gallagher in his analysis of
the London System claims that Black is in trouble if he plays 4 ... Nh5
and goes after the Bishop immediately.
1. d4 Nf6 2. Nf3 g6 3. Bf4 Bg7 4. e3 Nh5 5. Be5 f6 6. g4
{Supposed to be Black in trouble according to Gallagher! Does not go
any further than g4 - suspect I am missing...

Fritz Engine Issues by
FunkyBassman
I am considering purchasing Fritz but during some reaearch I have become
aware of problems using various (though not all engines).
From what I can gather a lot of engines produce an "Unknown Error" message
if you try to use them on a system where Fritz is installed anwhere other
than C: (an exception to this rule being Crafty).
Now whilst I dont want to get in a slagging match, if this is the...

Center Counter Game by
Ken Lovering
I've got a match coming up against a guy who plays 1.e4 100% of the time,
for which I reply 1....e5 and he replies 2.d4 100% of the time. We have
never played each other.
I plan on playing 2.....exd4, for which, he replies with 3.Nf3 100% of the
time. I have never had to play against this in a standard game and am
seriously studying the line for the first time.
All of his opponents (this is on...

chess bitch by
EG
I saw a book called "chess bitch" by jennifer shahade and it says that
she is a chess bitch.
What *exactly* is a chess bitch? Is that like a female chess player
that steals another girl's boyfriend? Or is a female chess player who
is part of a motorcycle gang ?
please tell me;
