Centre Game Results! by Ken Lovering
Well guyz..........he played exactly, almost, what I expected him to play! The almost: he played Bd3 on his 8th move, instead of b4. He saved that for his 10th move. So........I'm out of "book" on the 8th, trying to figure out how not to waste a move with d6, when I know I might have to play d5, while at the same time doing something useful. 1. e4 e5 2. d4 exd4 3. Nf3 Bb4+ 4. c3 dxc3 5. Nxc3...

Gallagher Anti Indian Analysis - London System by Carl Tillotson
Am I missing something obvious here? In his "Beating the Anti-King's Indians", Gallagher in his analysis of the London System claims that Black is in trouble if he plays 4 ... Nh5 and goes after the Bishop immediately. 1. d4 Nf6 2. Nf3 g6 3. Bf4 Bg7 4. e3 Nh5 5. Be5 f6 6. g4 {Supposed to be Black in trouble according to Gallagher! Does not go any further than g4 - suspect I am missing...

Fritz Engine Issues by FunkyBassman
I am considering purchasing Fritz but during some reaearch I have become aware of problems using various (though not all engines). From what I can gather a lot of engines produce an "Unknown Error" message if you try to use them on a system where Fritz is installed anwhere other than C: (an exception to this rule being Crafty). Now whilst I dont want to get in a slagging match, if this is the...

Center Counter Game by Ken Lovering
I've got a match coming up against a guy who plays 1.e4 100% of the time, for which I reply 1....e5 and he replies 2.d4 100% of the time. We have never played each other. I plan on playing 2.....exd4, for which, he replies with 3.Nf3 100% of the time. I have never had to play against this in a standard game and am seriously studying the line for the first time. All of his opponents (this is on...

chess bitch by EG
I saw a book called "chess bitch" by jennifer shahade and it says that she is a chess bitch. What *exactly* is a chess bitch? Is that like a female chess player that steals another girl's boyfriend? Or is a female chess player who is part of a motorcycle gang ? please tell me;

Black Repertoire for a London player by Geir Tveit
The best opening book I have read is "Winning With The London System" by Sverre Johnsen. Unfortunately he has not written any book about how the London player (white typically moves : 1.d4, 2.Bf4, 3.Nf3) plays with the black pieces. Does anybody know a suitable opening repertoire for black for a player who loves the London system. (especially what to play against 1.e4 and 1.d4).

Analysis !! by jsfromynr
Hello All, This is the game played over net with 2 Hour time control. In the end I won the game but still I think it could have been draw If White had not blundered on 44th Move. Please give your inputs on the same.

Book on Moeller and Arkhangelsk? by Ron
I seem to remember seeing, five or six years ago, an opening book combining coverage of the Arkhangelsk and Moeller defenses to the Ruy Lopez. Now I'm totally stumped, and can't find it on Amazon or via google. Does anybody remember the book I'm talking about, and who the authors were? Thanks

Imbalances. by LSD
rnb1k1nr/p4ppp/1pp5/4P3/8/P1P2N2/2P2PPP/R1BBK2R b KQkq - 0 11 I've got the White peices, and it's Black to move. You'll notice I've got two Bishops against his two Knights--and with pawns on both sides of the board, and the centre almost totally open. At this point I'm scheming about maximizing my Bishop pair advantage through the course of the game.... But in the actual game black plays...
