Something for the comps to analyse by
GMLordFoul
Seems to me, with crafty and all the other chess engines out there.
They all use an opening book, no problem. Now the fun is the end-
game. At present I have 95% of the 5 piece tablebases
downloaded/calculated in nalimov format that crafty and chessbase
progs like.
Now this is the question, as time goes by, the tablebases gain
another piece. Eventually they are going to make it to 32, so...

Computer analysis? by
Hank B.
I would like a program that "weighs" each move (good move, bad move, neutral
move)and suggests better ones as I replay some of my games that I have
recorded.I wish to analyze the "turning points" in the game and what each of
us could/should have done at those points.I have Chessmaster 7000 but am not
sure whether this program can do this.Would Extreme chess bebetter?
Thanks in advance to all and...

Junior 9 vs. Junior 8 in attacking style by
Pete Marsil
How does 'Junior 9' compare to 'Junior 8' with attacking styles? For engines
this strong, I would rather just choose the one that will offer me the most
entertaining games.

1. e4 e6 2. d4 Ne7 by
Jef
small correction,
as my last message wasnt very clear
"Freedom" defense after Nc6. The e7
knight can go to c6 after c5 and the
b8 knight can go to d7.
yep, i meant the line e4 d6 d4 Ne7 3. Bc4 Ng6
and then:

Request endgame analysis by
Toni Lassila
A position from one of my games:
8/pp2n3/2p4P/4k1P1/6P1/P7/1PP5/2K5 b - - 2 1
Black to move
The question is: what happens after 40...Kf4 if the black king goes
after the pawns. Is there enough time to come back to stop White's
queenside rush?

Fischer vs. Kasparov by
Mogath3
You should read "Bobby Fischer goes to war". It's a great little book about
the 1972 match (which occured 2 years before I was born).
I read it and can't believe that I did. I already knew everything that happend
during that match from the several books that were written about it 30 years
ago. Just a rehash of old news.
Fischer was used to getting his way because he could. He was a spoiled...

After the moves
1. e4 c5 2. Nf3 d6 3. d4 cxd4 4. Nxd4 Nf6 5. Bd3

I'm trying to look for something better than a maroczy bind. I've come
across 5. ... e5 have found the following:

Hello All,
I'm currently rated around 1500. I want to improve my tactical

dont spot those mistakes!
I want to improve my game and reach a 1800 level in 6 months. What
would your advice be to me?
I put in 2 to 4 hours a day for chess. Any pointers to useful...

How to open a game at a specific position in Chess Assistant 7.1 by
Jan Libbrecht
What is mentioned below, is possible under Tools Options List "Start
notation from search criterion". In this case, CA lists the selected games
starting from the search position and also opens them in View mode at this
specific position.
However, this was not really my question.
My question was more like: can I indicate a move in game 1 (e.g. move 12 for
Black) and a move in game 2 (e.g....
