Default Which Fritz6 patch had best Sparring Mode support?

I like using Fritz 6's Sparring Mode to play against an opponent that makes
occasional tactical errors, but the most recent patches seem to either break
this mode, or make it behave strangely.

When I apply the latest Fritz6 patch available from the Chessbase web site,
sparring mode seems to work, but not consistantly - often I have games where
the red flashing light indicating a mistake from Fritz never comes on during
the game, despite having the sparring level set to easy levels. I have got
the "point out mistakes" option selected, so the light should come on when
Fritz makes a mistake.

Does anyone have opinions on which patch had the best support for Sparring
Mode in Fritz6? I'm also interested in how well Sparring Mode works in
Fritz 7 and Fritz 8.
