I am fully aware that in a given set of games even the strongest chess
programs could lose a game or 2 against their weaker and older opponents, but last night I played mentioned 2 game match at 120/40, no books used, in order to see just how much the understanding of the basics of the chess game has improved with todays top programs. Shredder 7 mated Fritz 1.2 in move 32 as white. Fritz chose Scandinavian and got his queen lost by the move 20 or so. Then came a surprise. Fritz 1.2 white game went to some sort of Trompovsky attack, and pretty soon Shredder found himself worse, and in a difficult and boring position played trully idiot moves (Ka8 and such), loosing easily within 45 moves. This is really dissapointing!! Any comments? Leonardo |
