rec.games.chess.computer: When I cross table my games i get table with this columns. Could someone explain their meaning? I understand what's the last one, but first numeric column is unclear. It must be some kind of rating, but what are additional numbers with + or -? Here's another: 10th Amitie, Bagneux FRA 2002 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 0 1 Seres,L 2465 -3 * ½ 1 ½ 1 1 ½ ½ ½ ½ 6.0/9 26.75 2 Payen,A 2355 +118 ½ * ½ ½ ½ ½ 1 1 ½ 1 6.0/9 24.50 3 Brochet,P 2425 +40 0 ½ * 1 ½ 0 1 1 1 1 6.0/9 23.75 4 Le Quang,K 2270 +131 ½ ½ 0 * ½ 1 ½ 1 1 0 5.0/9 5 Zigura,O 2400 -51 0 ½ ½ ½ * 1 0 ½ ½ 1 4.5/9 6 De Sousa,Jos 2300 +20 0 ½ 1 0 0 * ½ ½ ½ 1 4.0/9 16.75 7 Mohandesi,S 2355 -40 ½ 0 0 ½ 1 ½ * ½ 0 1 4.0/9 16.00 8 Nguyen Chi Minh 2355 -40 ½ 0 0 0 ½ ½ ½ * 1 1 4.0/9 14.75 9 Peyrat,O 2300 -19 ½ ½ 0 0 ½ ½ 1 0 * ½ 3.5/9 10 Philippe,C 2310 -169 ½ 0 0 1 0 0 0 0 ½ * 2.0/9 Average elo: 2353 = Category: 5 final position / name of player / Elo / their performance (+/-) / actual crosstable with individual game results/ final score out of total games played / SB points And of course the average Elo of the players and Category of the tournament. I don't exactly know how the performance rating works, but AFAIK the principle is that if you lose all your games you have a -400 performance and if you win all your games you have a +400 performance. Please someone correct me if I'm wrong - which is highly likely. If I happen to be right, mr. Seres here has a negative performance of -3 and thus a tournament performance rating of 2462 instead of the 2465 we expected from him. OTOH mr. Le Quang performed 2270+131 = 2401. I guess you're familiar with the SB-points. -- CeeBee Uxbridge: "By God, sir, I've lost my leg!" Wellington: "By God, sir, so you have!" Google CeeBee @ www.geocities.com/ceebee_2 |
