Fritz 8 Shootout Question

Default Fritz 8 Shootout Question

During a Fritz shoot out what are the moves (printed in blue) and
enclosed within parentheses? I suspect they are alternate moves, but
I'm not sure. If they are, does Fritz consider them to have equal
strength?
