Default A few chessbase 9 questions

1) How can I easily insert a move in ctg format book in Chessbase 9
(something that is as simple as done in bookup for example).

(2) How do I stop the annoying arrows on pieces after each move in
chessbase 9?

(3) Is there anyway to stop the popup "Lines" when there are
variations in the game? (i.e. when I quickly browsing through some
game that has some variations and analysis, I don't want to see popup
"Lines" asking for variation "A" "B" etc).

You can't add single moves to the openings book,

Yes you can. Right-click in the tree display and select "Allow move
adding". Any move you make on the board will then be added to the
opening book. Just remember to turn it off the same way when you
finish adding the desired moves or you'll wind up with a lot of
extraneous junk in your book.

Open a board window, help threath as arrow, or consult the help file (hit
F1) search for "arrow" and read "threat animation"

By default this should have been off. Most people who would something
like chessbase are not idiots who would need these meaningless
annoying arrows.

Keep the Control key down when going through the game using the arrow keys.
Or consult the help file (hit F1) and search for "replay variation" and
read "Keyboard shortcuts in the board window".

Yes, that works when using keyboard arrows (how annoying to have to
keep ctrl key pressed), but it doesn't work when using mouse and right
arrow below the board. Is there a way to turn this popup off?
Chessbase 8 didn't have this problem.

Another problem I sometimes get in chessbase 9 is an error "Engine:
Not a valid Engine" for UCI engines (like Rybka 1.1) though the same
engine works fine in Fritz GUI.

Couple of thoughts.

1. Right click on the game score and select Fold All. Then go through the
game
by clicking on the moves. I could see this being a problem if you move
the mouse
pointer and you lose your place.

2. In the board window select Game/Replay. You can adjust the replay
speed,
pause, or move immediately through the arrows/buttons in the popup
window.

Regards,
John
