On a newsgroup at
http://groups.google.com/groups?q=al...x.co m&rnum=1 there is an example of an analysis report produced by Rebel XP Here's a snippet in case that link breaks 10. g2-g4 Nf6xg4 * Junior :14.00 -0.37 Nxg4 Bxh7+ Kh8 Bd3 Rebel XP :14.00 0.08 g6 h3 Re8 Rc1 Bb7 Alternative1:14.00 -0.98 Bb4 g5 Bxc3 Qxc3 Alternative2:15.00 -0.95 Rb8 g5 Nh5 Bxh7 I would really, really, like to analyze games with Rebel 12 so that the analysis result is formatted like the above report. I just bought and installed a copy of download-only Rebel 12 and didn't see how to get it to produce a report like that above - turning on the log file in Rebel 12 produced a log file that looked nothing like the above, but maybe I didn't see some checkbox that modifies the log file... Is it possible to make Rebel 12 do that Rebel XP thing? (hoping, hoping, ....) thanks, Bruce |

But Rebel XP won't run under Windows XP, and is a free download to us loyal
Rebel customers from the old Rebel site. Rebel12 runs under Windows XP, and costs about $40 from the new (Lokasoft) site. I just want to know if that example Rebel XP report I posted a link to can also be produced by Rebel12. I actually fear Rebel12 cannot produce such a report, because Rebel12 runs in the ChessPartner interface, and I suspect the production of such a report requires more work on the part of the interface than on the part of the engine. REbel 12 is definitely stronger than xp...it sees stuff quicker not to
mention it is noticeably stronger than the previous versions. With the update patch it works great. a much improve version in my opinion and yes i do have xp to compare it with. -- Posted via Mailgate.ORG Server - http://www.Mailgate.ORG |

There seems to be 3 versions of almost the same Rebel chess engine. Chronologically: Rebel XP, Rebel 12 pre-release/Dos version, Rebel 12/Lokasoft interface/Windows version. The Windows version is purported to run as a Winboard engine. Maybe it has the feature for which you seek. I seem to recall some notes that the pre-release Rebel version was limited in features. Maybe you could send an email to Lokasoft to find out. Or you could wait for me to buy it and find out... : ) I have the Century 4 and really liked everything about it except that I wanted a Windows version. Now it has arrived - yay. I always liked the Rebel playing style. -- matt -`;'- |
